RE: National Award for Innovation and Excellence in Teaching
Professionalism
Please accept this email as a letter in support of the Stetson
University College of Law's submission of its Elder Law Ethics videos
for the National Award for Innovation and Excellence in Teaching
Professionalism
I have had the opportunity to use selections of the videos in the Elder
Law Seminar I teach at Georgetown University Law School and in CLE
programs for state bars (Virginia in particular). The positive response
I have gotten from audiences has demonstrated that the videos
effectively transform the subject of professional ethics from an
abstract, sometimes tedious, mental exercise to a very concrete and real
personal challenge that both students and practitioners enthusiastically
wrestle with. Any teaching devise that does that deserves recognition,
and this award is an exceptional vehicle to do just that.
Very truly yours,
Charles P.Sabatino, J.D.
