Letter dated Jan 21st, 2005
Dear Entity Members:
This is a reminder regarding the upcoming University of Oklahoma College of Law's "Pro Bono Fair" being held on Wednesday, January 26th. So far, twelve entities have already registered (listed below).
FAIR'S OBJECTIVE: This Fair is centered upon introducing University of Oklahoma College of Law Students to the service that your entity provides to the community and by providing each student with an opportunity to meet a representative of your entity. It will also give a chance for the law students to sign up for spring 2005 and Summer 2005 Internships with your entity. Many of you are already familiar with our Pro Bono Program which kicked-off Spring 2004 by having secured student interns over the past Summer and Fall.
LOCATION: OU College of Law, 300 Timberdell Rd., Norman
Tables will be set up throughout the main floor of the law school (pit and deli areas) where many students pass through between classes and during lunchtime.
TIME & DATE: Tables will be set up all day, however we ask that entity representatives be at the table between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 26th. Of course representatives are welcome to stay for the whole day. If your organization is unable to send a representative, you can still be represented at the fair by bringing your materials to the school by Monday, the 24th (we will have a separate table for all interested organizations that are unable to attend).
WHAT TO BRING: Sign, organizational Brochures, business cards, contact information, organizational needs, sample schedule and criteria for student interns, and anything else. We will provide each organization with a student sign-in sheet and a (computer-made) sign.
LUNCH: The law school will cater lunch to representatives.
TABEL RESERVATION DEADLINE: Please reserve your table by Monday, January 24th because we will be putting up signs around the school, flyers in all student boxes and sending a mass email with information about the Fair and the name of each participating organization.
Important Note regarding WESTLAW ACCESS: Westlaw has extended permissible law student password use to unpaid/public externships/internships (excluding state or local government and courts).
CONTACT INFO: Please respond by email to reserve your table at alvarezpm79@yahoo.com or by calling Kyle Buchanan, Director of Career Services, at #405-325-4717.
Also, please send a brief description of the project (or type of project) you would like to have student interns work on and the purpose of your organization.
Thank you for the service that your organization provides to the community.
We look forward to seeing you on January 26th!
Paola-Marie Alvarez
